I'd like to use it for a prayer card.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-496103327369055047.post-57502244574647743812013-05-22T13:55:42.126+01:002013-05-22T13:55:42.126+01:00The recent movie "For Greater Glory" dep...The recent movie "For Greater Glory" depicts this trying time in Mexican history, known as "The Cristero War." Another much loved priest during this terrible time was Fr. Miguel Pro, whose picture hangs in many a Mexican home to this day. There are so many stories of bravery and heroism at every level just waiting to be re-read and shared. The interview between Sophie and the Nazi interrogator is well worth watching in the movie 'Sophie Scholl - the Final Days'.

Can I just also add that we need more prayer in the current situation in Ireland. Tomorrow is the Feast of St. Rita (Saint of the Impossible) which could begin a Novena of Prayer to bring us up to the Saturday before the great Feast of the Visitation where St. John the Baptist rejoices in the womb over the Presence of the Lord in the womb of the Immaculate Virgin. We are also of course in the middle of the 40 Days of Prayer and Penance for the protection of Life organised by Precious Life. Can I recommend the Chaplet of Divine Mercy to be prayed five times daily (at different times during the day where possible) in honour of the wounds of Our Lord as well as other prayers. We must remember the promises Jesus gave to this great devotion of Divine Mercy and as Pope Francis said yesterday we must have faith when we pray, faith in God who can do the impossible as He did for His Saints in the past. And as you rightly say Father we have an abundance of Saints to help us in Heaven. St. Faustina was told to pray the Litany of the Saints for nine days for her country by the Lord, when he asked 'Make a novena for your country. This novena will consist of the recitation of the Litany of the Saints'. (59 in the Diary of St. Faustina) . Perhaps we can do likewise. God bless you.
